Sauti za Busara (Swahili for “Sounds of Wisdom”) is East Africa’s premier music festival, held annually every February in the historic Stone Town, Zanzibar. Known for its commitment to 100% live performances, the festival showcases a diverse range of African genres, including traditional Taarab, Afrobeat, jazz, and hip-hop.
The event typically transforms the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe) into a vibrant hub of culture, kicking off with a colorful carnival street parade through the labyrinthine alleys of Stone Town.
