What’s the Best Way to Get to Zanzibar?

Zanzibar has an international airport. So many airlines offer international flights partly via Dar es Salaam. KLM, Kenya Airways and Condor, on the other hand, fly from Europe to Zanzibar via Nairobi. From the big city metropolises, you can then take a plane from the local airlines (Air Tanzania, Precision Air, etc.) to Zanzibar. The flights meet all international standards.

Alternatively, you can travel from the metropolises by ferry. Ferries and hydrofoils operate daily in both directions between Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar. The main ferry companies for this route is Zan Fast Ferries and Azam Marine. Catamarans and speed boats can also be rented for the crossing.
